​The story is set in the 1970s in a fictional village called Krishnagiri, a place uniquely situated between mountains that plunge it into darkness as early as 3:00 PM. Abhinaya Vasudev (Kiran Abbavaram) arrives here as a temporary postman. An orphan with a deep-seated curiosity about human emotions, Vasudev habitually opens and reads the letters he delivers, living vicariously through the lives of strangers. While he finds love with the postmaster’s daughter, Satyabhama (Nayan Sarika), he also discovers that young women in the village are vanishing without a trace.

​The film’s framing device is what truly sets it apart: Vasudev wakes up in a shadowy, high-security cell, where a masked interrogator uses advanced technology to extract his memories. As the interrogation proceeds, the audience is taken through a non-linear journey of Vasudev’s life—from his troubled childhood to his investigation of the Krishnagiri kidnappings. KA (representing the first letter of the protagonist’s name and the philosophical concept of “Karma”) explores how the universe balances the scales of justice. With a haunting background score by Sam CS and stunning cinematography, the film keeps the viewer guessing until the final ten minutes, which deliver a twist that changes everything you thought you knew.
